Theme for this week:
A Shikara ride in the lap of Mother Nature where you get to indulge yourself in all sorts of retail therapy starting from being able to gorge on kulfis, cucumbers, fresh and dry fruits and what not!, to shopping for beads, kurtis, bedspreads, coats and so on! Can you beat that for fun and relaxation?

We LOVED the shikara ride too.. It is so relaxing, you forget everything else except that you are floating on the calm waters of the Dal Lake.
What are the decorations for?
There was no particular occasion we were told
I had been there and will never forget the please we got visiting there. Nice place even though we saw the bullet marks in the old buildings … some were fired just the previous week.
Hmmm even in the last 11 days, ceasefire has been violated 7 times across the LOC
Really sad!
We were told the Dal Lake freezes such that folks actually play cricket and ride bikes on the same

I am full of memories from my childhood which was spent in Kashmir….It truly is heaven on earth. Dal Lake being the highlight. We used to be there every other evening. Walking along or taking that shikara ride….sometimes to just go to other side to nehru park or sometimes to take out those lotus stems Or sometimes uptill chaar chinaar… Oh i I miss those awesome childhood days.
