Love across the Salt Desert is a collection of 20 short stories, fiction set against the backdrop of real-life happenings including the partition of India, the invasion of Ghazni etc.. The title is what made me buy the book, what with that impending trip to the salt desert, and am glad it did. Though I was disappointed at first with the title story getting over in a jiffy, I loved each and every story for how crisp the writing is, with the right dose of required elements. You can so easily relate to the characters in the stories, and that speaks volumes about the author’s style of writing.
