Most of you know by now that we, a team of 16 from Youth For Seva Hyderabad are making a trip to Leh, Ladakh, Kargil, Drass etc.. this month. This is one among our series of Vana Yatras to different parts of India, where we try to explore the specialties that she has to offer in every little corner and fill in the gaps there, if any.
Only this time, we are going there with the sole intent of meeting our Jawans to express our gratitude to them. Ofcourse, this is nothing in front of their great sacrifices, the greatest being that they don’t even consider it as a sacrifice. Reminds me of the words of one very senior person in the Indian field of Sewa:
If our Jawans can die so selflessly for our country, can’t we atleast live for our country?
And we are trying our bit to let them know that we are eternally grateful to them and our love, wishes, prayers and most importantly our highest degree of respect are always with them.
In this regard, we aspire to carry 4383 messages from Indians all over and present it to the Jawans on Kargil Vijay Diwas 26th July 2011, one message for each day since we won the war 12 years ago [i.e on 26th July ’99].
Let one of these messages be yours’. Please visit this page on FaceBook to leave your message.
You can also tweet your messages @yfshyd.
We are leaving on 20th and desire to get all these messages printed and make a nice book out of them. So please do it N.O.W 🙂
