Right now, am sitting here in our living room and trying to post something for the last half an hour or so 😛
Today has been a busy day, but a very fulfilling one. We had a nice training session today – and know what? It was on me to organize this one – starting from selecting the speakers, the place it would be held and everything else. And it gives me great satisfaction that people loved it 🙂 Satisfaction is so much more sweeter than success or something like that isn’t it? It was a full day session from 9:30-5:30 and is gonna be continued tomorrow too!
Oh! I din’t tell u ppl what it was about, did I? When we teach in schools, we see a lot of problems in children – ranging from abuse to lack of motivation and so on. Since we volunteers are not equipped enough to give them the right solutions or should I just say the right words for such children, we had arranged a nice session by a wonderful life skills management trainer Dilip Patel , who has come all the way from Bengaluru and also a few experienced psycologists and counsellors from Hyderabad. And what more? DilipJi is staying with us too! He is associated with an amazing initiative called Initiatives of Change, which focuses on initiating change from within.
I never knew when I was co-ordinating with him over phone that he was a 60-yr young man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or rather he did not make it seem that way at all! He was in a conference at Panchgani for 5 days and then came here and was next supposed to go to Hrishikesh, but just cancelled it. You know why? Because his wife was supposed to going with him too, but since his 81-yr old MIL who stays with them has been a bit sick for the last few days, he is staying back to look after!!! He had not let us know anything about him except that he was an Engineer-cum-Industrialist and now a Trainer-cum-Counsellor. And just now, we came to know he is a painter-cum-poet-cum-writer-cum-cartoonist too! He writes for major magazines and newspapers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are we glad, blessed or what to have such an inspiring personality staying with us!
There’s so much about him and the session he took today to write about! Awesome, fun-filled session where he introduced us to counselling just by making us play a few games! And he denied when we offered to get him here by flight! He said Bus was more than enough as he hardly had to spend the night, when he would anyway be sleeping and also that he wanted to minimize adding to the carbon footprint!
Err right now, Su and DilipJi are sitting here talking about different things and that’s giving me a lot of fodder 😛 Know what they are talking about 😉 How lucky they are to have their wives in their lives 😉 They are sharing how passionate and enthu their respective wives are, as though they are competing with each other he he 😉
Heee! Know what Su said just now 🙄 That I have changed him for the better, without even trying to change him! Wowww! I never knew that, because he has really been the better person always 🙂 I do take it as a compliment though ahem 😛 😛
Gee … I don’t even know where this post is going. So, let me put a full-stop for now 😉 Oh, before I finish, let me share one fun activity that we had today.
He asked us to form a circle and taught us a simple four-line to sing again. The song slowly moved on to become and action song, by adding one extra action every time we sang the four lines. And finally, after sometime, every person was dancing gleefully, including the parents of one of our volunteers 🙂 The child in everybody was awakened and people danced like no one was watching them 🙂
Here are those simple lines which made everyone smile a mile 🙂
I am feeling the rain
Just feeling the rain
It’s a wonderful feeling
Am hap hap happy again 🙂
And you know how he made us dance? Just said: Think that you are a tree, raise your hands – they are the branches! Ohhh! There is a cool breeze. Swayyyy in the breeze and lo! Dancing had never been more easier ever before 🙂
Sing that people! Feel the rain and have a great weekend. Luv u all 🙂 Tata!
