…. make u feel happy and make u realize love and relationships are what matter the most and eh! that life is beautiful 🙂
It was about 2 months ago that a circle of us friends decided that we should meet at-least meet once in a month or 45 days. Meet as in not drop into someone’s house; that happens almost every other weekend and sometimes on weekdays too, but meet like all 10-12 families make it and have fun! We did it this Saturday and what a blast it was. A long drive, games, music, food – we had it all! And the best part was it was all arranged by the men’s folk – every single thing and they did such a fab job! They kept the kids entertained too. Infact, we girls did not even know anything other than the place. Total surprise package! And yes, they have taken it upon them to arrange such a meet once in every 30-45 days. So, its gonna be a new place every time so that we get to explore a different place too!
This time, we had been to Swami Narayan Gurukul [which is on the way to Chilkur Balaji temple]. Why this place – It has a beautiful Lotus temple housing a Sivalinga, another temple with exquisite interiors dedicated to Swami Narayan, a superb play area for the kids and hugeeeee lawns were u can have loads of fun! It has a nice canteen for PetPooja too and thankfully, it’s all open for public use 🙂 The place is absolutely neat and clean! Perfect!
We played shuttle, dodge ball and lotz of other silly games! There were some very very phunny rapid fire questions, choose the best answers and so on. Su, I believe, was the one in charge of the games part! Wonder when he came up with such superb stuff and I did not even get to know about it 🙄
The samosas [they have still not told us where they got them from] were one of the best I have ever eaten. What more, we even got to drink fresh cow’s milk as the Gurukul has a Goshala attached to it!
The kids were at their chirpiest best and the grandparents were at their enthusiastic best!
Where are the stars?, asked Arshvi! There are clouds, so u can’t see them said we! How can u see the moon then? She retorts! Gimme a break 😯 She is just 3!. And she is so particular about colours too – light blue and dark pink are my favs she says. Chocolate brown, leaf green – wonder when I learnt about so many colours 😉 We were going somewhere and I told her we should take a left turn! I just showed her that this is left and this is right and she says – Ya! This is straight and going like this means u r taking a U-turn! Hey Ram!
Can’t believe 7 hrs went by like minutes. One couple forced us to go to their place for dinner and would not have a word against it. Off we went, had a delicious dinner and another pair of friends who stay some distance away dragged us home after that! So, we were visiting places @ 11:30 p.m in the night and finally reached home the next day 😉 😉
We had another party to attend on Sunday. One of our friends was celebrating his birthday [acc. to the Hindu calendar] and acting smart, invited all of us saying he was hosting a Children’s Day bash @ home. Huh! We were smarter. Wonder how he thought we would not get to know about it, what with his actual birthday being just a week away! Off we went dressing up like kids in uniforms and the moment he opened the door, we all barged in with lollipops and mini-vuvuzelas 😛 . We all wished him on behalf of Nehru’s birthday and he was literally ROFL! Thankfully, all the neighbours were out on vacation and there was no stopping us! We talked, played all the time blowing our vuvuzelas! The kids were actually quieter 😉 And then food! It was droolicious! My friend’s parents had prepared the entire spread on their own! I just love this husband-wife duo! There love shines through beautifully! Uncle was frying puris when aunty was rolling them, he prepared Pani Puri for all of us, sitting in the centre with a whole basket of puris.
Samosa, Mirchi Pakoda, Dahi Wadas, Veg. Biriyani, Jalebi, Cholay, Mutter Paneer – still digesting all that stuff!
Needless to say, there was a Pani Puri eating competition too:mrgreen: and a few men even dished out a new dish !?! called Balle balle Papadi, a mixture of all the available chats etc.. and it actually tasted good!
Am I thankful or what for such friends like these 🙂
All in all, a lovely weekend and am soo waiting for the next one too – 27 of us friends are going to Vizag-Araku and just thinking about all the fun we are going to have makes me smile 😀
Hope u all had a gr8 weekend too and wishing all of u a wonderful week ahead 🙂
