The story in pictures

[Click on the pics to enlarge]

We trek up the hills

And then down the banks

Heavy burden? But God has given us strong shoulders too 😉

The smiles never fade away 🙂

Let’s join hands and trot along

We reach the destination and so do the Vanavasis

The Joy of  Giving

And then we all pose together 🙂  Hmmm .. we r one big family 🙂

Then we head to another village

Drawing energy from the SUN

Ghar Ghar mein Sun Tan tana tan

The volunteers have some fun with the plough

The children pose 🙂

And so does the calf  8)

Cricket is a favourite everywhere 😉

We visit a school and distribute school kits

The kids are so excited 🙂 They check it out immediately 😉

This school has a budding artist

Another day, another school; the same purpose though!

Back to the good old school days 🙂 We stand in line for the flag hoisting 🙂

Jhanda ooncha rahe Hamara [May our flag soar high in the sky]

Devenderji hoisting the flag.  Hats off to his spirits at this age! He trekked up every single peak with us! He took the load off my hands and asked me to click pics leisurely while he carried them !?!

Bharat Mata ki Jai 🙂

The students sing and chant while we distribute bags. Look @ their concentration on what they are doing!

They exhibit their talents with the javelin!

And our volunteers try to exhibit their’s 😉

Students vs Sevaks

All work and no fun – just not our cup of tea 😉

Picasso in the making!

Janani Janma-bhoomi-scha Swargadapi Gariyasi [Mother and Motherland are superior to Heaven]

Mother India

We inaugurated a library here – 400 books is what we had carried.

@ The activity centers – Kids come here after school to relax, refresh and read

They sing

A,B,C,D

They dance

They chant

Heyy Naughty Boy 😉

The kids are so happy with the kits. They start sticking labels already 🙂

All of us say a prayer before dinner, thanking the Lord for all that we have

At the end of the day, this is what keeps us going 🙂 The smiles say it all 🙂

Join hands to build India 🙂

Jai Hind!

  1. gr8 pics ! and an awesome effort Swarrr !!!

but what came to my notice is the mother and motherland bit ! Its only the idols and posters of women gods that we show respect, na ? The mortal ones out there arent even considered as humans by some of them who fall under that aforementioned category ! I always wondered what irony meant ! 😀 😀

    1. The dance ws very nice too Rays. It’s something like they are looking @ a mirror and keep asking who is this who smiles when I smile and cries when I cry and then realize its their own face 🙂 Very cute 🙂

  7. Wow Swaram! Nice to know you that you are a part of this active initiative!! When we see or meet people/kids with less privileges, it feels so ridiculous to even think of complaining about petty things despite every conceivable luxury!!

  15. Oh, so lovely and really heart-warming to see the smiles on the kids. Its really a wonderful experience. It humbles us in so many ways and makes us tell a gratitude prayer for all the things we have in life. 🙂

Loved it. 🙂 Like the pic of the naughty boy. 🙂

On second thoughts, I was inspecting all the group pics with more greater care and scrutinizing eyes – What if Swaru asks us to spot her in one of the pics ???? 😉 😉 😉
