May the Elephant God bless you all with all that u desire and deserve 🙂 As I already shared with some of u, I ws playing a good hostess 😉 not only over the blog world, but also in the real world 8) [Modesty naam ki koi bhi cheez hs no existence in my dictionary btw ] And nw, u betta be careful, bcoz am back in full swing to spam ur blogs n begin my endless chatter here all over again 😈
The weekend just flew with lots of shopping, preparations for the festival, performing the Puja and putting Atithi Devo Bhava into practice all day long 😛
This is one of the grandest festivals we have and the only one in which we install an idol and perform the Puja. Sankranti which is our harvest festival and Ugadi, which marks the new year and Diwali, the festival of lights are important too, but the joy n excitement in selecting an idol of Ganesha every year, the decorations all add to the festive spirit!
Legend has it that Goddess Gowri comes to the earth to visit her Mom’s place and Ganesha, who yearns for his Mother comes her to take her back with him. So, we first celebrate Gowri Puja. She is like a daughter in every home 🙂 And then, we follow it up with the Ganesha Puja 🙂
So, presenting our beautiful Gowri and dear Ganesha who are gonna be with us till this Saturday and it feels like they are a part of our family err I mean we r a part of their bigggggggg family 💡 okie whatsoever 😯
TAN TA DAN
I used a decorated straw basket upside down to serve as an umbrella. The tripod for the camera serves as the base 😛
We hd friends visiting on the Puja day and gosh! when u hv company like that, time flies @ rocket speed! Performing the Puja together, gappa maaring , hogging on the delicacies, pulling each other’s legs, we hd an awesome time together! I ws feeling J of all of them as they were njoying when I ws confined to the kitchen Anyways, they appreciated the food and hence survived the wrath ❗
We hd little Gowri and Ganesha visiting us in Kuhu and Rishi and they entertained us al;l day long! Kuhu is just 13 mths old and roams around all day long carrying a handbag. She had a red shining one that day and even slept holding it in her hands! Anything she sees, she starts ‘Yeh kya haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii’. All the time, she holds a mobile to her ears and goes on saying Papa followed by some baby talk. It ws so nice to listen to that. She calls her Mom ‘M’. No no … her Mom’s name does nt even start with M! May be she uses it as a short form for Mamma or Mummy 😉 Wonder hw she knows that though! ‘M’ Paani, ‘M’ Duddu – thatz hw her talk goes 😆
Rishi ws one sweet child who hd absolutely no stranger anxiety and got along well with all of us! His toothless grin ws to die for 🙂 He did not cry even once *touchwood* and used to giggle incessantly if we just make some funny face in front of him 😀
We also hd a gr8 time pulling Pappu’s legs 😛 All the women folk sat down to have lunch first when the men offered to baby-sit and then this is what we found Pappu dng! Wonder kaun kiska khayal rak raha tha 😉 And yes, we are evil enuf to click this pic! We hd an awesome time when all of us got together and started singing ‘Pappu can sleep saala’
All in all, a weekend well spent 🙂 The weekend ws not weakened 😉
Belated wishes for the Gowri-Ganesh Puja 🙂 Hope all of u hd a gr8 time!
May the Lord shower his choicest blessings on all of U!
