The route from Kargil to Srinagar is breathtakingly beautiful.
But … the region around is also home to the toughest terrains, harshest weather and is always in the Line-of-Sight of the enemy!
[This is the Zoji La or the Zoji pass at a height of 11575 feet on this route (NH1) - extremely narrow, often closed during winter and just passing through it can give most goosebumps. People actually said prayers when we were passing through this one!]
And yet, the Soldier stands undeterred, ever ready to give his today for our tomorrow.
It is in honour of their kind who fought at such peaks during the Kargil War and won it, that today is celebrated as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas‘ . [We were there in Kargil last year for the celebrations, you can read the post here]
Take a minute to remember them all, and their kith and kin,
And say a prayer for their well-being.
Jai Hind Ki Sena!

These people are the REAL heroes. And yet we blindly give adoration to cinema actors, celebrities etc.
These are the people who deserve a standing ovation, our absolute adoration and support…..
They are the reason we continue to live a normal life where we are….
Hmmmm
Having studied and grown up in Border Security Force campus..i have witnessed the emotions, the sacrifices, the fears, the smiles, the pride and what not….They trully are THE HEROES. Day in and day out standing ready to guard us and make sure we have a peaceful life.
SALUTE and BOW to them today and every single day!
