I have been seeing this gorgeous feature called ‘Skywatch Friday‘ on Aarti’s blog for quite sometime. It’s been more than 6 months now since the Leh trip, but the hangover refuses to fade away. Co-incidentally the next in series pics perfectly fit this theme of Skywatch Friday. And before you ask, noooo ….. I am not doing another NaBloPoMo
Just in case you want to take a peek into the previous Leh post, head here
If you have seen 3Idiots and awwww-ed at the scenic location where Kareena and Aamir coochey-coo in the end, you are definitely going to love these pics. Not only Lake Pangong Tso – where the last few scenes have been shot, but the entire route from Leh to the place leave one totally mesmerized! Mother Nature has definitely bestowed her choicest blessings on this place.
Please click on the pics to enlarge.
Enroute Pangong Tso
First destination of the day – Chang La, the third highest motorable pass in the world, at 17590 feet!
A lot of concern needs to be exercised at this point. The army men posted there asked us not to spend more than 20min at the place, because it might cause breathlessness.
Have to add, the service provided for the tourists is so amazing! Free medical help by friendly and encouraging army doctors, where they check your oxygen level and provide you some artificially if there is some variation and also any other medication required is one of them!
We also got to taste some yummy yummy black tea at the World’s first highest cafeteria – free free free, and served by some smart and dashing adorable Jawans! The amount of planning that has gone into every minute detail – hot water is kept ready for people to wash their cups and keep it back for others to use them
We proceed …. the play of the sky, the mountains and the water paints such beautiful scenes that you would have probably never imagined!
And we reach Pangong Tso! Magical, no !?! Such peace prevails here that you would just want to spend all your day just sitting and gazing at the magic that Nature has to offer. The water is biiiiiiiiting cold but that could not stop us from getting into it and having fun
The different shades of blue reflected by the lake at different points is a sight to behold!
Someone told us that these buildings were constructed for the shooting. Not sure of that, but I would love to vacation there atleast once in a year
Didn’t I tell you the entire route competes with the actual destination? We stopped at a gentle stream flowing by the roadside on our way back …. totally transports you to those country side scenes from your favourite novels, doesn’t it?
A closer look at the stream … sky missing here, but still ![]()
PICTURE PERFECT !!! ….. One of my most fav pics from the trip
A day so well begun should end with glorious good-byes too, right? It did
Good night and happy weekend peeps! Until next time, Tata

hugss…
Rekha
Ahh u got that point abt the jawans rt
That ws the best part of the trip indeed
U know i think u dint do justice by posting so many pics in one single post.. each of this pics deserve to be gawked at for few mins(n possibly the size of the pic must have been large\x-large instead of “medium)
Lady, click on the pics to see the enlarged version and have a better look. Adding a larger size here slows down the loading of the page and I kind of hate it
Hi Swaram. how are you ? Tired calling you a couple of times…
